Listed in The Stage Newspaper top 100 Power List, Simeilia Hodge-Dallaway is the Founder/Managing Director of Artistic Directors of the Future, Executive Director of Black Lives, Black Words International project, Black British Play Specialist, Theatre Director, Producer, Author and Audience Development Consultant.
Former Troubleshooter and Manager of the National Theatre: Black Play Archive, initiated by Kwame Kwei-Armah which lead to the creation of the first monologue anthology inspired by Black British Writers. Since then she has continue researching the works of international culturally diverse playwrights creating a library that is second to none. She continues to be a beacon for positive change in the arts sector.
Actress and Entrepreneur determined to living her best self. Maya Angelou said that “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” I am enamoured with beautiful writing, convinced that great stories enrich your life adding texture and colour, aware of the beauty in ordinary things and so in love with the people in my life and the joy that resides in me because of them. I have dedicated half my life to the health of others and have found new life by living truthfully under imaginary circumstances.
I am honoured to be part of organisation that ensures good health, part of an industry that tells great stories and part of Beyond The Canon that champions the forgotten, the lost and the remarkable.
